I’m starting a collection of images I’m tentatively calling gifpairs – juxtapositions of images, at least one of which is an animated gif, that coincidentally fit together, like the example above. They can be funny or profound, straightforward or ironic. They’re digital diptychs, serendipitous pairings found in the uncountable amalgamations of images found online.
If you find any cool picture duos, be sure to tag them with gifpair.

Caroline Trentini spends a day at the beach with the kids in this charming editorial for the November 2011 issue of Vogue US. Photographed by Patrick Demarchelier and styled by Grace Coddington, Caroline wears classic (almost vintage) inspired pieces from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Dior, Nina Ricci and Zac Posen. A perfect editorial that makes one excited for long summer days at the beach even if it’s only November… Le sigh. Also I’m pleasantly surprised to see this in Vogue US. Faith has slightly been restored.
